Taking care of a one-year-old at my age is insane; I do not know how some people do it. You cannot really fault the child for being a tyrant because she doesn’t know any better. All she knows that screaming usually gets her what she wants, whether that is food, or sleep, or Beyonce on the television.

Some ever-present deity smiled upon me today and granted me the day off. I am pretty sure that I have worked everyday for the past two weeks, so this is a very welcome break. Not that my job is completely evil, but it has drained me. Helping to take care of a 15-month-old baby, who is going through a destructive tanturm phase, is extremely tiring. There is a reason why I do not have children at my age; I don’t have the patience for it.

And if I had to watch that Beyonce concert one more time…

Apparently, the best way to get the kid to fall asleep is to watch Beyonce. I don’t know why, but it works and I try not to question it. But, seriously, after watching it twenty times in one day, it gets old and annoying.

Usually, my job is pretty easy. I run errands, look after the kid for a few minutes, and sit around. I am under-worked and over-paid. It’s great. Not to mention that I have a certain distraction* that makes some days more interesting than others.

I’ll admit that part of the reason why the last two weeks have been monotonous and tiring is the fact that this distraction* has been absent. Though, it’s ironic because usually, when the distraction* is present, I’m more stressed. But that’s another post for another day.
